Società Agricola Saliceto is located in Lesignano de Bagni on the hills of the Appennino emiliano parmense at 500metres of altitude above the Val Parma and next to Langhirano the capital of Parma ham.
The peculiar feature of our cheese is being produced in a closed circle firm where the milk producer ,the cheesemaker that works on it and Who seasons it are all in the same farm.
The secret of so much deliciousness resides in the particular territory ,in the feed and in the use of milk without the addiction of any additives.
The aroma and the scent of our cheese come from the agricultar work of our land and from the harvest of hilly hay the main ingredient in our cows diet.thanks to this natural and secular breeding method and to the kraft work of our diary farm from 1960 We produce the King of cheese.our family produces the 90% of the necessary fodder for our cattle.We cultivate our terrains without the employ of any chemical fertilizers and pesticides because as fertilizers We just use the dung from the breeding.this choise allows us to respect the environment using a natural non pulluting compost..
The cattle is mainly ITalian frisona and Bruna Alpina bred.
The diet of our cattle respects the strict disciplinary of Consorzio of parmigiano reggiano with an innovation introduced by us: We use guaranteed quality cereals,live extruded flax(fundamental to transmit Omega 3 to the cheese).Everithing is separately bought and added to hay in adjustable quantity depending on the heard needs.our purpose is cow food welfare.
